Before applied AI, I spent fifteen years building games, most of them live services: software that has to stay up under real concurrency, change every week, and keep players' progress safe while it does.
The Wildcard Alliance · 2022 – 2026
A live-service UE5 competitive multiplayer title. I architected its real-time viewer engagement platform, which sustained 10,000+ concurrent viewers per match during live-streamed matches: a C# WebSocket broker bridging viewers to the UE5 game server, on MongoDB, Redis and Lambda, deployed on Kubernetes. I also designed the core backend services (skill-based matchmaking, inventory and progression, server orchestration, telemetry) and the admin portal, and owned the SDLC for a team of 10+ engineers.
PeopleFun · 2021 – 2022
Wordscapes, a word-puzzle franchise with tens of millions of monthly players: I led engine-level performance work that cut its memory footprint by 50%. On BricksnBalls I led a full-stack modernization across iOS and Android, from Spring Boot services to Unity level-editor tooling and A/B testing.
Playful Corp · 2013 – 2021
Creativerse, a multiplayer voxel open-world game, from development through years of live operation. I owned its architecture and delivery, built the user-generated content system that gathered 100,000+ player contributions, and architected the multi-tenant server orchestration service. I also led the performance and memory work that supported New Super Lucky's Tale on Nintendo Switch.
Newtoy (acquired by Zynga) · 2010 – 2013
Words With Friends during its peak growth years. I architected the iPad version, led the native Android version, designed the HTML5 port for Facebook, and built an on-device hot-reload system for Lua gameplay scripts used across the With Friends titles.
